Photographing Faces

“People buy from brands that they like. They like you, because they trust you.”

- Pippa, Shout & Co.

Lately, I’ve found myself photographing faces a bit more than I thought I ever would: you see, photographing products is my core business.

My camera is nearly always pointed at a flat lay or lifestyle scene, but recently I’ve started aiming it at faces to capture the human behind the brand.

Social Media is a shifty beast and the rules of engagement change on a frenzied basis. "About us" posts are one of the (if not the most) popular digital content types around for a very simple reason: they help to build loyalty. Sales come from customers who LIKE a brand and to do that, you have to build TRUST.

And how do you do that? By being open, honest and transparent. Giving them a peek at the human behind the brand is a one-way express ticket to your customer's inner circle.

With engagement and reach on the line, a poorly executed selfie to accompany an autobiographical caption just isn't gonna cut it. You'll need someone in your corner who gets it: social media, photography, people - the whole shebang. You need someone who can capture beautiful images of you to amp up how your audience sees and interacts with you.

So if you're keen to build trust and loyalty with your audience, let's get some beautiful new images of you being you.

Here are just some of the ways I've put people instead of products at the forefront of my images.
