Making a Case for Shadows

We had someone tell us once that they hated shadows and would prefer for their images not to have any - and there was a stunned silence in the studio. Shadows can turn a bland image into a scroll-stopping beauty, so it’s incredibly difficult for us to have to work without them!

Texture, depth and intrigue are key components in product photography, and shadows are one of the few elements that tick all 3 boxes - and then some.

Your brand colours don’t have to be bold and bright to benefit from shadows - even neutral tones and muted palettes showcase shadows beautifully.
